I completed my student teaching at Mountain View High School in Orem, Utah, under the direction of Brett Taylor, MM.
Mountain View is home to a thriving choir department of 250+ singers spread across five choral ensembles. Many students are also enrolled in a Music Tech class. I completed the majority of my student teaching in-person at the beginning of 2020. As the Coivd-19 pandemic took hold, Mountain View HS transitioned to distance learning, and I completed the last few weeks of student teaching as an online teacher.
Performance experiences at Mountain View included a full-scale pops concert and fundraiser with all 5 choirs, a “Valentunes” fundraiser where small ensembles performed love songs for students and community members, and a Festival performance on the day before the shutdown with the MVHS Chamber Singers.
